Shenzhen University Partners with CGGE: Jointly Building a Collaborative Platform for Creative Intelligence Industries, Partnering to Create a New Future Ecosystem

Shenzhen, China - December 18, 2025 - On December 13, 2025, Shenzhen University and CGGE (Shenzhen) Technology, Ltd., held a signing ceremony for a strategic cooperation framework agreement during the opening ceremony of the International Artificial Intelligence and Creative Conference (IAICC 2025). Mao Junfa, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and President of Shenzhen University, along with Director Raymond Neoh of CGGE (Shenzhen), attended the ceremony. Zhang Jianbin, Party Secretary of the School of Arts at Shenzhen University, and Zhang Baozhu, Vice President of CGGE (Shenzhen), signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. This agreement marks the formal establishment of the “Shenzhen University-CGGE Creative Intelligence Industry Collaboration Platform,” enabling comprehensive strategic cooperation in creative intelligence education, scientific research innovation, and industrial incubation to jointly advance the development of the Creative Intelligence economic ecosystem.


From Initial Contact to Shared Vision: A Three-Month Preparation Journey


This strategic partnership is the culmination of multiple rounds of in-depth discussions between Shenzhen University and CGGE (Shenzhen) since September 2025.



Initial Contact: On September 22, 2025, Shenzhen University's Faculty of Arts and Spectrum Global identified collaboration opportunities during the mid-term exhibition of the Digital Media Arts Department. They promptly reached a preliminary cooperation agreement centered on the core vision of “jointly nurturing and building a creative, intelligent, and digital future,” establishing the shared goal of constructing a collaborative platform.


Formal Meeting: On October 14, 2025, Mr. Raymond Neoh, Director of CGGE (Shenzhen), led a delegation including core team members Zhang Baozhu, Xiao Yong, Wen Yuxing, Pan Qiaoyun, and Chen Chutian on their inaugural visit to Shenzhen University's School of Arts. They were received by Zhang Jianbin, Party Secretary of the Faculty of Arts at Shenzhen University; Wang Fangliang, Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Design; Vice Deans Xu Hui and Wu Jun; Li Bing, Head of the Department of Digital Media Arts; and Yang Chenxiao, a key faculty member of the Department of Digital Media Arts. Both parties engaged in in-depth discussions, delving into areas such as joint curriculum development, research collaboration, and platform mechanisms, thereby forming a preliminary cooperative framework.




Deepening Communication: On November 27, 2025, both teams continued exchanging details of the cooperation plan, further clarifying the strategic layout of the “Four Major Centers” and “Three Key Objectives.” Attendees included Mr. Raymond Neoh, Director of CGGE (Shenzhen), along with core team members Zhang Baozhu and Wen Yuxing; Shenzhen University Faculty of Arts Party Secretary Zhang Jianbin, Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Design Wang Fangliang, Vice Deans Xu Hui and Wang Xin, Party Branch Secretary of the School of Fine Arts and Design Zhang Lichuan, Vice Deans Xu Hui and Wang Xin, Department Heads of the School of Fine Arts and Design Zhang Lichuan, Digital Media Department Head Li, and Visual Arts Department Head.



Site Visit: On December 12, 2025, the CGGE (Shenzhen) team and conference guests were invited to tour Shenzhen University's History Museum, gaining an in-depth understanding of the university's over forty years of educational history and cultural heritage. Subsequently, they visited the School of Fine Arts and Design within the Faculty of Arts, explored potential future collaboration spaces, and held discussions with faculty members. Distinguished visitors included Zhang Baozhu, Vice President of CGGE (Shenzhen); Francesco Siddi, Chief Operating Officer of Blender (the world's largest open-source 3D production software), General Manager and Producer of Blender Studio; Léo Silly-Pelissier, Oscar-winning animation director; Martins Upitis, Oscar-winning animation technical artist; Liu Shan, Visual Artist and Director of “A Tapestry of a Legendary Land,” who was part of the core creative team for the Beijing Winter Olympics Closing Ceremony; Olivier Amrein, Art Director at Dreamscape Immersive and 3D/VR Artist; Nosipho Maketo van den Bragt, CEO and Owner of Chocolate Tribe; and Rob van den Bragt, Animation Director of Chocolate Tribe. Dean Wang Fangliang of the School of Fine Arts and Design, Dean Liu Hui of the School of Drama and Film, Vice Dean Wang Xin of the School of Fine Arts and Design, Department Head Li Bing of Digital Media Arts, and core faculty member Yang Chenxiao warmly welcomed the visiting guests. Both parties further solidified their cooperative consensus in a relaxed atmosphere of exchange.





Following nearly four months of thorough preparation and meticulous communication, the signing ceremony on December 13, 2025, concluded successfully, marking the official entry of the collaboration into its implementation phase.


This collaboration represents not only a deep integration of education and industry but also an efficient demonstration of the “Shenzhen Speed”—from initial intent discussions to the signing and implementation of the strategic framework agreement in less than three months. It fully embodies Shenzhen University's dynamism and execution in collaborative innovation and open cooperation.



Building a Collaborative Platform: Four Centers, Three Goals


Under the signed Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement, both parties will leverage the educational and industrial strengths of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Guided by the core vision of “co-cultivating and co-building a creative, intelligent, and digital future,” they will jointly establish an innovative closed-loop ecosystem integrating “education, research, industry, and employment.”


(1) Building One Platform with Four Centers: Focusing on four dimensions—“Teaching, R&D, Incubation, and Talent”—the partners will jointly establish the Creative Intelligence Innovation Curriculum Teaching Center, the Creative Intelligence Interdisciplinary Technology R&D Center, the Creative Intelligence Product Development Incubation Center, and the Creative Intelligence Talent Development Center to achieve multi-faceted collaborative development.


(2) Focus on Three Key Goals: Establish a micro-specialization curriculum system for the Creative Intelligence Economy, co-organize the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence and Creativity, and establish the headquarters of China's Source Innovation Community University.


Looking Ahead: Co-Creating the New Era of Creative Intelligence


Moving forward, Shenzhen University and CGGE (Shenzhen) will deepen their collaboration, focusing on curriculum development, scientific innovation, international exchange, and industrial transformation. Centering on the collaborative platform, both parties will advance the systematic and international development of Creative Intelligence education, positioning Shenzhen University as a benchmark institution for Creative Intelligence education and research in Asia. This partnership not only revitalizes Shenzhen University's design discipline but also provides a model for building the Creative Intelligence industry ecosystem in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The partnership between Shenzhen University and CGGE exemplifies the deep integration of academia and industry, jointly shaping the future landscape of education.
