This course will teach students the fundamentals of digital image processing and related techniques. The instructor will lead students in the production of multimedia for print and social media platforms, as well as the design of illustrations in a variety of styles. More, students will be encouraged to create digital media based on their own interests to enrich their portfolios or to facilitate their work.
The objective of this course is to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of digital image processing and related software from basic theory to practical application, offering them the opportunity to make work lives more effective and expand their career prospects.

Started with Digital Image Processing
and Related Software
In this chapter, the instructor will introduce students to the basic concepts of digital images (raster and vector graphics) and the basic operation of two image processing software, GIMP and Inkscape. Students will learn how to do image matting and colour modulation through in-class exercises. The knowledge acquired in this chapter will provide students with a foundation in image processing and will help them to study related advanced knowledge in the future.

Social Media UI Designs
This chapter is designed for creators interested in running social media platforms. The instructor will introduce them to the operating theory of several types of social media and teach them how to create their own personalized work. This chapter will also introduce how to create multimedia UI so students can create the appropriate UI for different media.

Graphic Design and Printing Basics
This chapter is designed for students who are interested in learning about printing production. The instructor will introduce students to the production process of printed materials through in-class exercises (making envelopes, letterheads, cards, and promotional materials), so that students can master the production methods and techniques.

Graphic Editing and Graphic Design Beginner Seminar
Through hands-on demonstrations, the course will introduce you to basic design concepts. We will take a step-by-step approach to learning basic graphic design tools for beginners interested in art and graphic design. In addition, our instructors will instruct you on how to export your own NFT creations using the necessary plug-ins. If you’re interested in learning graphic design, or just curious about our course, don’t hesitate anymore—apply while places are available!

Mr. Chris Kwok has more than 20 years of experience in the design and production field, from graphic design to creating interactive content for multiple brands and media, such as Cartoon Network Asia Pacific and FANCL. Mr. Kwok has participated in the production of over 20 international movies like “The Leakers”, “She Remembers, He Forgets”. Mr. Kwok also participated in the production of games and interactive experiences, such as educational games for Smallcampus.net of Hong Kong Education City Limited. He is active in the digital entertainment industry, participating in events such as the Indie Zone of ACGHK with “Dokidoki Daily”, and in the 2020 TGS with “foodieFrog”. Mr Kwok has a wealth of experience applying software such as Adobe Series, Final Cut Pro, Clip Studio Paint, and Unity in design and multimedia projects.
