High-Quality Industrial Development in the Digital Economy: 19th China (Shenzhen) Cultural Industries Fair GDC Summit on the Digital Economy Successfully Held

On the afternoon of June 7, the Digital Economy Summit Forum of the 19th China (Shenzhen) Cultural Industries Fair was grandly held at the Global Digital Creations (GDC) Building. Co-hosted by GDC, Krystal Institute, Animation Global Magazine, and the International Digital Culture and Technology Alliance, this forum aimed to explore the development trends of the digital economy from multiple dimensions, chart future strategies for its advancement, and inject robust momentum into the construction of Digital China and the growth of the digital economy. Nearly 60 experts, scholars, financial leaders, heads of enterprises and institutions, and media representatives from domestic universities, research institutes, renowned enterprises, and mainstream media gathered for this grand event. The summit forum successfully kicked off the 2023 Cultural Industries Fair GDC venue.




Industry Leaders Charting New Horizons in the Digital Economy


Wang Hongpeng, Managing Director of GDC, delivered a welcome address, extending a warm welcome and sincere gratitude to all distinguished guests and colleagues. Wang emphasized that in the development of the digital economy, key digital technological innovation serves as the driving force, while industrial digitalization and digital industrialization form the dual wings for soaring progress. Facing diverse industries and demands, the key to industrial digitalization lies in providing customized, operational solutions tailored to sector-specific characteristics. As a proponent of digital solutions, GDC empowers regional economies through dual-track digital twins and digital IP, committed to building an ecosystem platform for digital assetization and asset securitization to advance industrial digitalization and digital industrialization.


Anthony Neoh, Council Member of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Vice Chairman of the Shenzhen International Arbitration Court, former Chairman of the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, former Chief Advisor to the China Securities Regulatory Commission, and Senior Practicing Barrister in Hong Kong, delivered a keynote speech titled “Establishing a Sound Regulatory Framework to Lead Digital Economic Development.” From multiple perspectives including policy regulations, security awareness, and technological innovation, Neoh elaborated on new pathways, business models, and paradigms for China's digital economy. He emphasized that in the digital era, only by aligning with national strategies, guiding industrial policies, and leveraging technological innovation as a driving force can one avoid falling behind in the digital wave.


Raymond Neoh, Chairman of the International Digital Culture and Technology Alliance and Dean of Krystal Institute, delivered a speech titled “Independent Innovation in Foundational Technologies: The Driving Force Behind China's Digital Economy.” Neoh emphasized that foundational digital technologies are pivotal to the development of the digital economy. Independent development of these core technologies provides technical safeguards and control, reduces reliance on external technologies, and thereby protects the information security and core interests of both the nation and enterprises.



Huang Xiaodong, Director of the Guangdong Provincial News Media Virtual Simulation Laboratory, delivered a presentation titled “Digital-Physical Integration Development and Practice: Metaverse Approaches, Technologies, and Pathways for the Digital Economy.” Mr. Huang noted that the digital economy is currently in a phase of rapid growth. By developing metaverse-related industries, promoting technological convergence, and driving deep integration between the digital and physical economies, we can effectively empower the comprehensive upgrading of the real economy, potentially further advancing the high-quality development of the digital economy.


During the roundtable discussion, Anthony Neoh, Raymond Neoh, and Huang Xiaodong shared their perspectives on two key topics: “Industrial Transformation and Model Innovation in the Digital Economy Era” and “Implementation Pathways for Digital Industrialization and Industrial Digitalization.” They explored new opportunities in digital economic development, offered feasible suggestions for addressing challenges facing China's digital economy, and gained insights into industry realities and trends through high-quality exchanges. Through the collision of ideas, they uncovered opportunities of the era and envisioned boundless possibilities.

Both agreements focus on industry-academia-research collaboration within the digital economy era, fostering multi-party integration to cultivate digital intelligence talent. This initiative aims to advance industrial, educational, and scientific research development, injecting fresh vitality into the digital economy's prosperity.



The successful convening of this Digital Economy Forum facilitated in-depth dialogue among experts, scholars, and industry representatives. It explored the vast market prospects and boundless innovation potential of the digital frontier, establishing a platform and bridge for industry-academia-research collaboration to propel the vigorous development of the digital economy.
