MicroMaster in FreeCAD and Blender 3D Printing Certificate Course
Students will use open source software FreeCAD and Blender to learn the theory and operations of 3D printing. Students will utilize the software and use lenticular and laser holography to create 3D printed products. FreeCAD is a powerful and easy-to-use tool for any 3D modeling environment, making it the perfect introduction to 3D modeling. This course will combine FreeCAD with Blender, another excellent 3D modeling tool, to lead students through the basic concepts of 3D space to more advanced knowledge of lenticular 3D technology and laser holography, and finally to 3D printing. The instructor will demonstrate the 3D printing process of objects such as cell phone stands, key chains, cartoon characters, etc., and answer students' questions on the spot, imparting knowledge to students in an interesting and interactive teaching atmosphere. Each case study involved in the course is accompanied by an assignment for students to complete on their own so that the instructor can assess the students' knowledge after the class. At the end of the course, each student/group should be able to print their 3D works independently.
