Guangzhou Business School and Krystal Institute Affiliate Launch Strategic AI Partnership—Establishing a New International Benchmark for Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration

On April 15, 2025, the School of Art and Design at Guangzhou Business School welcomed a return visit from Krystal Institute's affiliated company - CG Global Entertainment Limited (CGGE)'s core team. Founder and Chairman Raymond Neoh, accompanied by Vice President Sean Xiao, Partner Penny Wen, and Regional Director Cloudy Poon, engaged in discussions with Dean Lin Yuyuan and Vice Dean Lai Weicheng regarding comprehensive AI-driven digital creativity industry-academia-research collaboration and deepening partnership for the 2025 Shenzhen Blender Conference and International AI and Creativity Conference (BCON/IAICC 2025) to be hosted by CGGE in mid-December. Krystal Institute will support the initiative by offering its expertise in research, education, and digital media innovation.

During their initial meeting on March 27, 2025, both parties reached a cooperative agreement on international cutting-edge technological trends in the digital creative industry, innovation in art and design disciplines, and the establishment of practical training bases. This follow-up visit further advanced strategic collaboration on AI innovation curricula and high-standard international industry conference activities.
Guided by Vice President Lai Weicheng, Chairman Neoh and his delegation conducted an in-depth inspection of campus facilities. They highly praised Guangzhou Business College's internationally advanced facilities, including its lecture halls, library, training laboratories, and digital creative teaching spaces—all embodying a blend of humanities, arts, and modern technology.

During the meeting, Chairman Raymond Neoh shared his global perspective on the latest trends in the industry's future development, stating: "AI technology is reshaping the digital media industry, presenting both challenges and new opportunities.
Cultivating talent with cutting-edge technical capabilities is crucial for China's digital economy and corporate competitiveness! Higher education institutions can significantly advance the development of industry-leading talent by innovating curricula, strengthening industry-academia-research collaborations, and actively participating in international conferences and competitions. CGGE has independently developed comprehensive technical standards for computer-generated animation workflows, leveraging global open-source AI models to build a digital content creation platform. We focus on original animated films, short dramas, digital virtual humans, animated characters, and IP industrialization. Guangzhou Business College's leadership and faculty possess industry foresight and innovation capabilities.
CGGE hosts the International AI and Creative Conference (IAICC), inviting leading domestic and international AI technology and creative experts to participate in the summit forum. Dean Lin Yuyuan elaborated on the profound significance of the joint international AI creativity conference organized by Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao enterprises and universities from an educational philosophy perspective: “IAICC will uphold the core concept of ‘Technology Empowering Art, Humanities Guiding Innovation.’ We anticipate exploring new paradigms for art education in the AI era through this platform, enabling technology to genuinely serve the enhancement of human creativity.”
Vice Dean Lai Weicheng shared a feasibility study on specialized talent cultivation programs with corporate partners. Based on initial discussions, the report systematically outlines the technical pathways and implementation plans for establishing a joint AI Digital Content R&D Center, providing robust theoretical support for future collaboration.

Both parties initiated comprehensive strategic collaboration. Leveraging Guangzhou Business College's strengths in higher education and artistic creativity, alongside CGGE's cutting-edge breakthroughs in proprietary R&D and open-source software ecosystems, this partnership injects new vitality into building the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area into an international science and technology innovation hub. It advances university-enterprise innovation cooperation to establish a global benchmark in AI art education.
